The Spring release of Dezide is ready with new features and improvements.

Highlights of Dezide Spring 2017:

• Support for “Visual step answers” for images in explanations for Guide steps
• Ability to bulk change taxonomy for guides
• Support for guide copies in guide hierarchies
• Ability to configure multiple portals for easy publishing

Besides the new features, we have made a massive effort to upgrade our entire infrastructure, build structure and code base that allows us to use a much more modern approach to application development. This will ensure that we are able to respond to customer requests, fix bugs, upgrade systems and much more in an efficient and effective way than what has been previously possible using our old development approach. We are excited about the changes and our developers are already enjoying the new way of working.

Support for “Visual Answers”

Clicking an image that represents an answer to a question is a very intuitive way of interacting with the troubleshooting guides, so we have added the ability to configure images as answers. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the links to the answers, especially in self-service scenarios where the users are not familiar with the guided troubleshooting approach and in cases like that, the visual answers are a great way of assisting the users.

The visual answers are also a big help for field service technicians that often work with big gloves and can have a hard time clicking a textual link on a small screen on handheld devices.

Ability to bulk change Taxonomy

Even if we do our best to create a great taxonomy that represents our state of the world with a nice hierarchy that describes our product groups, products, components and much more – we often need to change the taxonomy due to new groups, products, organizational changes and much more. The changes to the taxonomy imply changes to the many guides that are built in Dezide and changing the taxonomy for guides means updating each and every guide and that can take a long time. That’s why we have introduced the ability to change the taxonomy settings for many guides at a time – taxonomy bulk change.

Support for guide copies in guide hierarchies

Many of you have asked for the ability to use the same sub-guide in multiple places in the same super guide hierarchy.
That feature is now available and on top of that, we’ve added a “Hierarchy” feature that makes it easy to navigate the guide hierarchy without going through the guide index page every time.

Ability to configure multiple portals for easy publishing

We’ve made it much easier to publish to multiple portals for customers using different portals for Field Service Technicians, partners, and customers. Previously it was necessary to manually manage a list of URL’s which was tedious and error-prone – now, it each portal can be selected from a list.
